The busiest neighbourhood is not the one most people would guess.

When we looked at Toronto cleaning demand by neighbourhood, the results challenged what most people would expect. Many assume the downtown condo core drives cleaning demand in Toronto, especially when they think about cleaning services in Toronto and the volume of condos around the waterfront. Our booking data says otherwise. We pulled 5,311 completed cleaning appointments from across Toronto between April 2023 and June 2026, and the single most active neighbourhood was High Park North and The Junction, the M6P postal zone, ahead of the CityPlace and Fort York condo corridor.

This report is built entirely on cleanings we actually completed. Not a survey, not estimates. Where a figure depends on a field we did not always record, we say so. Across the whole city, 55% of cleanings were recurring rather than one-off, and the neighbourhoods where that recurring share climbs far above 55% turn out to be a map of which parts of Toronto treat cleaning as routine. The 10 busiest Toronto neighbourhoods for cleaning

The busiest Toronto neighbourhood for cleaning is High Park North and The Junction (M6P), with 252 bookings, followed by CityPlace and Fort York (229) and Swansea and Runnymede (184).

Demand is concentrated. A short list of postal zones generates a large share of all the work, and the kind of clean changes from one to the next.

Two patterns stand out. The west-end run through High Park North, The Junction, and Swansea is the densest single block of demand, heavier than the downtown condo core on raw volume. These are apartment and small-home areas, and they book recurring service far above the citywide rate, 83% in High Park North and 71% in Swansea against 55% citywide. The CityPlace and Fort York condo corridor ranks second on volume while sitting near the citywide average at 52% recurring, which marks it as a different kind of demand: more one-time and move-related work.

Recurring cleaning is the larger half of the market

55% of Toronto cleanings are recurring and 45% are one-time. A recurring clean averages $192 per visit; a one-time clean averages $302.

Recurring cleaning made up 55% of bookings, one-time the other 45%. The price pattern underneath that is the part worth understanding. One-time cleans skew toward deep cleans, move-outs, and post-renovation jobs, which is why they averaged $302 a visit. Recurring cleans averaged $192, because a home kept on a schedule needs lighter work each visit. A large, steady base of Toronto households treats cleaning as routine maintenance rather than a one-time rescue. Nearly a fifth of Toronto homes we clean have pets

996 of 5,311 bookings noted pets in the home, making it the single most common note attached to any booking, ahead of every paid add-on. Pet hair changes how long a clean takes and which surfaces need the most attention. In a market where a fifth of homes have pets, that is something a cleaning company plans for, not an exception.

The add-ons Toronto pays for

Setting the pet note aside, the most requested paid add-ons, in order:

1. Inside fridge cleaning (460 bookings)
2. Inside oven cleaning (417)
3. Inside cabinet cleaning (245)
4. Interior window cleaning with tracks (147)
5. Bed-sheet change and laundry (108)

Inside-fridge and inside-oven leading the list fits a city that books a lot of move-related and deep cleaning, since those are the classic move-out tasks. Interior window tracks in the top five is a denser-housing signal.

When Toronto books its cleanings

Toronto cleaning demand peaks in spring, with May the busiest month, and is lowest in July.

Pooling all three years by month, the cleaning year has a clear shape. Spring is the peak, with May the busiest month and March through June all running above average. July is the quietest month, August close behind. Demand recovers in October before the winter settle. The spring peak is the familiar seasonal reset, and the summer dip is consistent enough to plan around. The soft months to book if you want easy availability are mid-summer, not winter.

What kind of homes we clean, where we recorded it

One caveat: property type was recorded on 57% of bookings, so this describes the bookings where we captured it, not the full sample. Among those 3,041 bookings, houses made up 57%, apartments 39%, and commercial spaces 4%. The apartment share lines up with the condo and small-home zones, the CityPlace corridor and the apartment-heavy west end. Where home size was recorded, the typical Toronto job was a two-bedroom home in the 500 to 999 square foot band, which again points to how much of this market is apartments and smaller homes.

If you live in Toronto

A few practical reads. If you are in a smaller downtown apartment, you are the typical Toronto cleaning customer, not the exception, and a recurring plan is how most households in your position handle it. If you have pets, you are in good company at nearly a fifth of the market, and it helps to flag it up front so the time is planned. If you are booking a move-out or deep clean, spring is the busy season, so book earlier in those months, while mid-summer is when availability is easiest.
