How much does house cleaning cost in Canada?
Your price depends on your city, bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage. You see the full price before you confirm, with no hidden fees.
- Base price of $89 or $99, depending on your city
- Bedrooms from $59 for one bedroom to $139 for five
- $30 per full bathroom and $19 per half bathroom
- $20 for each 500 sq ft above 999 sq ft
- Example: a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home of 1,500 to 1,999 sq ft is $288 or $298 + tax for a standard clean
- You can also book by the hour instead of a package
What is included in a standard house cleaning?
Every standard clean follows the same checklist in each room. The full list is on our cleaning checklist page.
- Bedrooms and living areas: dust surfaces and furniture, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, clean mirrors, empty bins
- Kitchen: wipe surfaces and appliance exteriors, clean the stovetop and microwave, shine the sink, mop the floor
- Bathrooms: sanitize surfaces and toilets, clean the sink, mirrors and shower faucets, scrub the tub
- Hallways, staircases, and the glass on patio and front doors
What is the difference between a standard, deep, and move-in/out clean?
Each one builds on the one before. Deep and move cleans add a package fee to your standard price.
- Standard: the full checklist, for regular upkeep
- Deep clean (+$99): adds baseboards, cabinet exteriors, backsplash, window sills and frames, door frames, and reachable areas under furniture
- Move-in/out (+$159): adds wall spot cleaning, air vents, ceiling dusting, and behind appliances where accessible
- Inside the fridge or oven is an add-on at $29 each
- For a first clean, or a home that hasn't been professionally cleaned in a while, we recommend a deep clean
What is not included in a house cleaning?
Some jobs fall outside what our cleaners can do safely. Please tidy cluttered areas before your clean so surfaces and floors are reachable.
- Exterior windows, balconies, patios and garages
- Mold, pests, biohazards and animal waste
- Paint removal and broken glass
- Moving heavy furniture, or cleaning under items that need lifting
- Anything above 12 feet, and full washing of walls and ceilings
Do Hellamaid cleaners bring their own supplies and equipment?
Yes. Cleaners bring their own supplies and equipment, including a vacuum and mop. You don't need to provide anything.

How does recurring house cleaning work?
Choose weekly, bi-weekly, every three weeks or monthly at checkout. Your discount starts from the second clean. More on our recurring cleaning page.

- You can request the same cleaner in your booking notes or client portal. We do our best to send them, but it isn't guaranteed.
- Skip, pause or reschedule anytime with at least 24 hours' notice
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
No. You only need to give us a way in, such as a door code, lockbox or concierge. Add clear entry instructions when you book. You're welcome to be home too.

Are Hellamaid cleaners insured and background-checked?
Yes. Every cleaner is background-checked and trained before their first home. Cleaners are bonded, and Hellamaid carries $5 million in liability insurance.

What is the cancellation policy and when do I pay?
Reschedule or cancel for free with at least 24 hours' notice. Within 24 hours, a $45 late cancellation fee may apply to compensate your cleaner.
