Book a post-construction clean when the trades are finished and the home is ready to live in again. It suits a kitchen or bathroom remodel and larger renovations. The clean removes fine dust and residue from the work. Heavy debris and leftover materials go out with the contractor first.
Construction dust is finer than everyday dust, and it keeps settling while any work goes on. That is why the clean comes after the final trade visit, not between visits.
If the home only needs a reset without construction dust, deep cleaning in Vancouver costs less. Moving in right after the work? Pair it with move-in and move-out cleaning in Vancouver.
Post-construction cleaning in Vancouver starts at $387 for a 1 bed, 1 bath home at Hellamaid. That is the standard clean plus the $199 Renovation Clean package. Bigger homes cost more by room and square footage. All prices are before 5% GST, and you see the total online before you pay.

See my exact priceThe Renovation Clean adds construction dust and residue removal to the standard checklist, for $199 on top of the regular price. Kitchens and bathrooms get the closest attention, because grout haze and fine dust collect there. Paint and large debris are not part of the clean.
Not included: paint removal or splatter, and large debris or leftover materials. The contractor clears those first.
Many Vancouver renovations happen in older homes and strata buildings. Both add steps before the cleaner arrives. Older homes may need asbestos testing first, and strata buildings have their own contractor rules. Here is what to sort out so the clean happens once, on time.
WorkSafeBC says 32% of Greater Vancouver homes were built before 1990. Owners of those homes must test for asbestos before renovating. Our cleaners remove normal construction dust only, so any abatement must be finished first.
The Vancouver Heritage Foundation notes that lead paint can turn up in homes from across the 20th century. If old paint was sanded, have it tested before the clean. Our cleaners don’t remove paint.
City rules allow construction noise from 7:30am to 8pm on weekdays and 10am to 8pm on Saturdays. None is allowed on Sundays or holidays. Ask which day is the last one, then book the clean after it.
Strata bylaws can set contractor hours and require an elevator booking. Book the clean inside those hours. Put your fob and parking details in the booking notes.
In the rainy season, trades track wet grit across new floors. Ask the contractor to sweep and lift floor protection before the clean. Our cleaners then vacuum and mop what is left.
Dust keeps settling while any work continues. If a trade comes back for touch-ups, a second clean may be needed. Book the main clean after the final visit so you only pay once.

Book online once the last trade has finished and fresh paint has dried. You don’t need to be home. Most cleans take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the size of the home. Your card is charged only after the clean is done.
Hellamaid cleans after renovations across Vancouver. The building type changes the prep more than the neighbourhood does, so each note covers what to check first. Prices and the checklist stay the same in every area. Nearby cities have their own pages, linked below.
Condo renovations in towers. Book the clean inside your strata’s contractor hours and reserve the elevator.
Older houses and character homes. Confirm any asbestos survey and abatement were finished before you book.
Older detached houses and suites. Ask the contractor to clear the path to the door so grit stays outside.
Larger homes, often with basements. Add the basement option if the work reached that floor.
Straight answers for Vancouver homeowners, starting with what the clean costs. Each answer gives the short version first. Then it adds the detail you need before you book. Prices are Hellamaid’s own Vancouver rates, and the local rules come from WorkSafeBC and the City of Vancouver.

Book once the last trade has finished and any fresh paint has dried. Don’t book while work is still going on, because dust keeps settling and you may need a second clean. In Vancouver, construction noise is allowed until 8pm on weekdays and Saturdays, and not at all on Sundays or holidays. Ask your contractor for the last work day and book after it. If your home was built before 1990, the asbestos survey and any abatement should have been done before the renovation started.
No, you don’t need to be home. Leave a lockbox code or key location in your booking. For a condo, add the fob and parking details. Note any elevator booking your strata needs. If you are home, the cleaner works around you. Point out any fresh finishes that need gentle care, such as new countertops. Your card is charged only after the clean is done, and an invoice is emailed to you. If a task was missed, tell us within 24 hours.
Yes. Every booking carries $5M in liability insurance, and every cleaner is background-checked. If something is damaged during a clean, report it to us within 24 hours. Our team reviews it with the cleaner and makes it right when we’re responsible. Our 100% satisfaction guarantee works the same way. If your strata asks for proof of insurance before contractors come in, ask our team. New finishes are cleaned with care, but tell us about any surface the installer says needs special products.
Yes. Put your building’s rules in the booking notes and the cleaner follows them.
Strata bylaws vary from building to building, so check yours before you choose a date. Some buildings ask for a contractor insurance certificate. If yours does, ask our team before the clean. Book a time inside the allowed hours so the cleaner isn’t turned away at the door.
Move the clean for free with at least 24 hours’ notice. A change inside 24 hours carries a $45 late fee, which goes to your cleaner. Renovations often slip by a few days, so check with your contractor before the booking date. You can change upcoming bookings yourself in the client portal. If a trade comes back after the clean, dust may settle again. In that case, a second clean after the final visit is the only way to get a dust-free result.
