4 tips for a sparkling kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of every home – the room in your house where the family comes together to tuck into a hearty meal at the end of a long day. Unfortunately, it’s not just great food that’s created in the kitchen, it’s also the hotbed for splats and stains. If your current kitchen cleaning methods just aren’t scrubbing up take a look at our top tips to get your kitchen back to its sparkling best.

1) Time to bust the rust

The dishwasher is a quick and easy way to get the silverware clean after an evening meal. Over time the hot and humid process of the washer can start to corrode and rust even the highest quality silverware. But there is a simple way to keep the cutlery shining. The acidic makeup of Lemon Juice makes it a powerful rust buster. Simply ¾ fill a tall glass with lemon juice and submerge the cutlery overnight. The next morning, simply rinse and wipe to remove the unwanted rust.

2) Make soft work of hard water

Whether filling the washing up bowl or simply getting a quick drink, your kitchen tap is always on the go. If you live in a hard water area, the tap head can quickly become blocked with stubborn limescale. Forget the fancy limescale removers, as a common kitchen condiment packs the punch you need to get the water flowing again. White Vinegar is just the thing you need – fill a freezer bag half full with vinegar, and tie around the tap head ensuring it’s fully submerged.

After 4 hours, the limescale should have lifted, allowing you to remove the bag and run the tap to wash away any leftover residue.

3) Soften those baked-on stains

Cooking on the hob almost always guarantees the inevitable annoyance of splats and stains. Failure to spot them straight away can leave them getting heavily baked onto your ceramics. It’s time to give those splats a lift! Simply take a dish cloth, soak in hot water and lay across the top of the stain. Leave for 2 minutes to allow the hot steam to soften. Once it’s been loosened, a little kitchen cleaner should be all that’s needed to simply wipe away that pesky food splat.

4) A fresh fridge makes for a happy kitchen

Keeping the fridge clean is an important job but can often be troublesome. Strong cleaning products can leave a funny taste in your mouth when it comes to consuming those chilled products. Another staple ingredient of the natural cleaning recipe is Baking Soda. Simply add 2 tablespoons to a large bowl of water and use it to wipe down the inside of your fridge. Not only will this keep your fridge sparkling clean, but it’s neutral makeup will ensure that no artificial tastes or smells are left behind.

The kitchen is the room in your home where great meals are created. Keeping the kitchen sparkling is no easy feat as splats and stains can quickly build up. Our top kitchen cleaning tips can help you overcome the mealtime mess giving you more time to do the things you love.
